CHRISTA DAVISON
Christa is a professional musician and music educator dedicating her life's work to developing student musical talent. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to teach in Halifax, The Bishop Strachan School, Peel District School Board, and most recently she has spent the last ten years with the Upper Grand District School Board teaching at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville.
As the Head of Music and Program Leader of the Arts at Westside Secondary, she grew the program and opened it up to the community through various initiatives with local elementary and secondary schools, as well as community retirement homes. Christa is an experienced music educator who has taught music in every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12. She has lead successful Concert and Jazz Bands as well as String, Guitar and Vocal ensembles. Her performing ensembles have always achieved excellence at both Provincial and National competitions. Christa has a passion for working with student musicians and believes that all students can be successful. More importantly, it is Christa's hope that her work instills the life-long benefits of pursuing music and, from that, that her students will become future advocates for the Arts!

Dorothy Vreeswyk-Kidd is an accomplished trumpet player, educator and conductor. Ms. VK graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Music and taught music and performed in Edmonton, Alberta for many years. Ms. VK teaches at John F Ross in Guelph and her bands and ensembles have won many awards and gold standards at Festivals throughout Ontario. She currently plays second trumpet with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra, auxiliary trumpet with the Stratford Symphony Orchestra, conducts the Cambridge Community Band and is a sessional instructor at the University of Guelph. Ms. VK was also the music director for RCMPI’s 2022 production of Matilda. Ms. VK also teaches guitar and music composition/recording at Ross. She firmly believes that music education should be accessible to all students who love all different genres of music and takes the role of mentor to upcoming generations of musicians very seriously. Music is for life!
