GRADE 12 ACTING CLASS - ADC 4M1
Units 1-2: 70% Team Work
Unit 3: 20% Culminating Project
Exam: 10%
If circumstance arrive where it is impossible to complete one or both of the first 2 units, the percentages will be reversed and Unit 1 and 2 will be worth 30% and Unit 3 will be worth 70%
UNIT 1 - Audition technique ( 35%)
The student was to come to class with 2 prepared audition pieces based on what they learned in ADC 3M1.
By the end of the unit, I can:

understand how to prepare for an audition for college, university of going directly into the business by observing/participating in many different audition techniques. Techniques include: cold readings, improvisation, movement, finding your light, distraction, cattle-calls, using direction, singing, and group auditions
UNIT 2 - Scene Study (35%)
By the end of the unit, I can:

understand the dynamics of pauses/beats/moments in orchestrating a scene

demonstrate the ability to work with a partner in developing a scene

demonstrate the ability to memorize a scene and learn to pick up cues
UNIT 3 - Production Unit (Culminating Assignment worth 20%)
By the end of the unit, I can:

assume and develop a character(s) in a play
-
work through a rehearsal process in development of a play for public presentation.

demonstrate the ability to write blocking, business and character notes for a play

work through a technical rehearsal

work through a dress rehearsal

work through a production week with class shows, evening productions, and possibly touring productions/Festival productions.

- Play Reports and Live Show Reports - (Literacy Component)
